We have found a small bug in the firmware that we programmed to some of the batteries already shipped. If you let the battery charge level go too low, the battery will go to shipping mode (for protection) but you may not be able to bring it back easily. THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT THE BATTERIES ARE DAMAGED OR UNSAFE IN ANY WAY, it just means that, even if you connect the charger, the micro-controller on the BMS can’t be brought back to full operating capacity when the battery is at this state, but it is still protected, ports are closed, and there is nothing causing any type of hazard.
To prevent this from happening, try not to discharge your batteries all the way to shipping mode. It is OK and completely normal to use the batteries all the way to the very very empty end, just make sure that you will be able to charge them right after this use and you will have no troubles.
Anyway, even if the bug did not exist, it is never good to leave lithium-ion batteries discharged when you are not using them. Therefore, if you know you are going to leave the batteries resting for a few days, make sure to charge them until the battery button turns green and send them to shipping mode during this period. To send the battery to shipping mode, just press the battery button and keep it pressed for ~20 seconds until you see the light go white, then release. To bring the batteries back from shipping mode, just plug the charger in.
To try to solve the problem do the following:
1.- Connect the battery to the Baseplate.
2.- Connect the charger to the socket in the wall.
3.- Connect the charger to the battery (make sure the cable from the wall to the charger is properly connected)
4.- White and Red flashes in battery should appear and at this point the LED light in the Charger must be green (not charging)
5.- Do a quick click on the battery button (the one that is flashing the red light. Not for long time, just a little click)
6.- Charger LED must turn red and then the battery will start charging again. If this does not happens, please repeat the process again.
7.- Let them charge for about 3 minutes. Then unplug the charger and turn the batteries off.
8.- Turn the batteries on again, and plug the charger. Leave them charging until fully green for use.
If it not works at the first time try:
1.- Unplug charger from battery
2.- Unplug charger from wall and wait until LED light in the charger turns off
3.- Connect charger again to the wall
4.- Connect charger again to the battery
5.- Repeat the process
